The Preferred Legacy Trust Company Announces Transition to The Preferred Legacy National Trust Bank, Broadening its Jurisdictional Scope

Oct 3, 2023

The Preferred Legacy Trust Company is pleased to formally announce its transition into The Preferred Legacy National Trust Bank.

The Preferred Legacy Trust Company is pleased to formally announce its transition into The Preferred Legacy National Trust Bank. This pivotal rebranding and regulatory transition originates from the institution's shift from an Ohio Bank Charter to a National Bank Charter.

This advancement provides enhanced jurisdictional flexibility and expands planning opportunities for the institution's diverse client base. Coinciding with this transformation, regulatory oversight will now be managed by the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC), the federal entity tasked with ensuring national banks' legal compliance and operational soundness.

Denise Penz, the Chief Executive Officer and Vice Chairman of the institution, stated, "We are gratified to inaugurate this era of regulatory and operational expansion, enabling us to augment our family stewardship and trustee services on a national scale."

“This milestone is a testament to our unwavering commitment to providing the highest level of service to our clients,” commented Bill Carr, Managing Partner overseeing the CRI Family of Companies. “With this new status, we are even more well-equipped to expand our reach, enhance our offerings, and continue our legacy of integrity and expertise in client-centric trustee, fiduciary, and advisory services.”

The Preferred Legacy National Trust Bank will continue its operations across its existing network of offices located in:

  • Canton, Ohio

  • St. Clairsville, Ohio
